Advisory Board Member – Angela Cassel

AngelaI am a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant (highest enlisted grade with the Air Force structure) with 25 years of active duty service.  I have advised commanders on all matters concerning the morales, welfare, health, effective utilization, and professional development of all personnel.  My story is a bit different than that of most of my colleagues who retire after spending more than two decades serving our country.  To say I loved serving is an understatement and with even greater leadership positions in my future, I was fully prepared to serve my entire 30 years of tenure.  However, a hip injury while serving led to one surgery and then another and with what the Air Force called (all medical procedures exhausted) on me, within 30 days of notification, I was medically retired.  My husband, and two children still at home were on our 14th move to Knoxville, TN for a fresh start.  In this case; however, I truly had no idea what to do.  Once a leader, always a leader…I decided to start a Motivational Teaching, Speaking, Consulting, Speech Writing and Analyst Business from home.

The military does more than prepare for deployments; it allowed me to teach and speak to over 40,000 military and civilian members throughout my career on Leadership Principles, Communication Techniques, and Team Building, along with various strategic, tactical, and objective platforms.  I began writing what I titled “TLC Moments: nearly 23 years ago.  It was a daily or weekly practical and applicable wisdom on Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication issues every member of the team could relate to, and more importantly, apply to their personal and professional lives.

I have been a Key Note speaker for over 100 events world-wide.  My Messages on leading and following on having a positive attitude and the strength for adversity…they all stem from my own life lessons.  True leadership is the difference maker and the deal breaker.  It’s how we impact lives.  It is action.  I have written over 600 speeches for every level of leadership, to civilian forums and awards presentations.  I am a Certified John C. Maxwell and Empowerment Mentoring Motivational Teacher, Speaker, Coach, Trainer, and Executive Mentor.  I offer workshops, seminars, keynote speaking, coaching, world-wide webinars, and excel at aiding you and your staff with personal and professional growth through study and practical application of John’s proven leadership methods.  Working together, we will move you and/or your team or organization  in the desired direction to reach your goals.  The ply direction to move is toward success…I accept nothing less!

My goal-oriented outlook on life and my passion for adding value to other’s lives to enable them to reach their goals led me to join the John Maxwell Team and Empowerment Mentoring.  By involving myself into my natural work environment of what I know, it has made my military transition a great deal easier.  But It wasn’t enough! Which is why I believe in the power of Right Choices!  Throughout my adolescent and adult years, I wish I would have had the ability and resources to learn how to take care of me physically, mentally, how to cook, what’s best in the education path and so much more!  Now I have the opportunity to give back, to add value unlike anything I dreamed of.  In addition to everything else in my life, I am also a wife and mother of three children.  It is not always easy juggling the list of daily responsibilities effectively.  This is why you must have a structured and practical plan in place to avoid becoming overwhelmed and over stressed!  I have personally created my own plan and want to share it with other to create a more balanced lifestyle.  I have been studying and personally implementing the philosophies behind personal and professional develop and the role emotions and vision play in leadership for the last 25 years!  DARE TO BE MORE!

  • Right Choices was founded in 2012 by Allison Smith. Allison Smith is a retired United States Army Command Sergeant Major. She retired after 27 years of active duty service to our nation. Right Choices is devoted to leading, inspiring, and motivating women to choose to make good decisions in life.

Motivating women to understand their worth is very personal to Allison, you see, although she had a very successful military career; Allison suffered from low self-esteem from childhood into adulthood and even throughout her military career. In 2011, Allison retired from the military and committed to fulfilling the call on her life. Right Choices is that call. Right Choices believes that bad choices lead to bad decisions which lead to negative consequences. Right Choices serves as a tool to motivate, inspire, and guide women to understand who they really are; to help them realize that they are fearfully and wonderfully made; to understand that all things are possible with God and that with Him, they can do all things which will strengthen them.
